My Barefoot Baby didn’t start in a boardroom. It started in a sun-drenched nursery in Port Macquarie, watching our daughter, Florence, sleep.

As a Doula with over a decade in the natural health industry, I’ve spent my career advocating for the "purest start." I knew the profound benefits of grounding—how connecting to the Earth’s natural rhythm can settle a restless nervous system and support deep, restorative recovery. I wanted that for my daughter. I wanted her to have the same "reset" we feel when walking barefoot on the sand.

But when I looked for a grounding solution for her cot, I found a problem.

The Missing Connection

Most grounding sheets on the market were generic, mass-produced, and—most importantly—they weren't designed with a mother’s eye for safety. They had loose cords and flimsy attachments that felt "wrong" for a nursery.

I turned to my partner, Nathan. As a qualified Australian Electrician with 15 years in the trade, Nathan looks at the world through the lens of safety and design. We realised that to bring the Earth inside safely, we had to engineer it ourselves.

We spent months at our studio table, blending my passion for holistic wellness with Nathan’s technical electrical expertise. We didn't want "just okay." We wanted the gold standard.
